GFO Hard Water Challenge

Rules:

1. SAFETY COMES FIRST. Ensure the ice you travel on is safe. Have proper safety equipment with you.

2. The event will run on February 16, 2008 from 8:00am until 12:00pm. In the case of bad weather the event will either be shortened appropriately the day of the event or moved to the following day, Feb 17th. Check the website for details the day before and the day of the event before you leave home.

3. Contestants must check in prior to 8am and cannot begin fishing before 8am. All fish must be returned to the weigh station by 12 noon.  A  signal will be given for departure from the park at 8AM

4. Electronic equipment such as sonar, cameras, and fish finders are permissible.

5. All municipal, provincial and federal laws are to be obeyed whether they are for fishing (licenses and limits), motorized vehicles (appropriate license & insurance) or general behavior (alcohol).

6. Contestants can fish anywhere on Lake Simcoe but must leave from Innisfil Beach Park at the signal and return by the designated time.

7. Fish entered must be caught by the registered contestant and cannot be given to any other contestant for entry.

8. A courtesy distance of 25 feet must be maintained between fishermen unless fishing as a group and with mutual consent.

9. In the case of a tie by weight, the contestant’s largest fish will be measured for length and girth and used to break tie. If the tie still exists the date of entry will be used. Perch must be a minimum of 10” for consideration.

10. Any unsportsmanlike conduct, unsafe acts or failure to adhere the tournament rules can result in disqualification and forfeiture of entry fee.

11. All participants must check in at end of derby.

12. The decisions of the judge(s) will be final
