If you want to I can convert any make of sonar into a summer / winter fishfinder. I have 5 - 200khz iceducers and 5 - 192khz iceducers and can modify your existing transducer so you can ice fish with a float. I have done this for Horseshoe and perhaps he can post a picture. You would end up with one connector to your sonar unit, the two transducers would connect individually to your sonar connector. Here is a pic showing the  modification.

Your cost would be $60.

Iceducer befor

Iceducer after ( note the new connection )

Vans, pardon my ignorance on the subject but what is the benefit.  I've seen your posts before explainng the differences in the different units but a lot of it is greek to me.  I've got a vexlar I bought a couple of years ago and sorry to say it hasn't seen much action.  Before that I had a very old unit (can not remember the name) but loved fishing with it.  That one finally died out and I went with the vexlar (had fished with my dad a few times and liked his).  Anyway, they seemed fine but would think about the upgrade if it was beneficial for me.   I come up two or three times for the perch (I am in Michigan).  Also use it here for Walleye on Saginaw bay.  Also, is this something that could be done while I was there for a weekend and how long does it take.

Thanks

The benefit is you can use the same sonar unit in the summer and winter.

You could send your transducer to me. Then when you are going to Simcoe make a short stop at my house and pick up your modified transducer.

Now my fish finder has a new life and is portable again. The bracket broke on the battery pack so I had to find a way to carry it again but the true portability was given to it when I got the iceducer from Vans.

Thanks again Van as it worked great.
