When we get blasted wtih snow like we did last night and travel on the lake get pretty hard I throw on my snowshoes. It makes walking through deep snow a breeze and with all the slush beds last year travel was good and I had a platform to stand on.

snowshoes come in all shapes and sizes. Now they have light weight sleek models for trail running, hill climbing and adventure travel. The traditional wooden snowshoes have a great applaction too. The trapper style with the tail are easy to use. The tail helps track you straight and give adaquate flotation. Snowshoes are sized towards your weight.

I have several pairs and had this pair made while living in Northern Ont. They are 5" long and narrow. They are for lakes and open fields.

so get out and try a trditional way to travel on the lake.
