Up early and off to the point for an early start....opps fergot ..need gas in the truck so detour for gas...and then get to the point ...li'l harse still aint arrived at the point yet...he shulda been there...wait ...ahh here he comes...gives me crap for leavin and lettin him do all the chores ...hahaha...well off we go...get to first stop just over 40 feet ...nothing on graph so i says lets just drop a line...no sooner down and opps   theres a fish ...ahhh been like that for me all winter all they do is look...BANG! a damm hard hit i jerk for hook set and its all over that quick ...broke me rite off... so we try that area for about 30 mins ...li'l harse gets 2 hits and misses both ...ok no marks no bumps lets move ...out to about 85  feet ...no marks no hits ...move agian into about 110..opps lotsa marks ...lets fish ...and fish and fish and switch lures and fish an wash more lures and finally its time ...lil harse has to go so off we went to get him to werk...gawd that werk thing must be aweful...its was dang cold early but as the sun came up and little to no wind it sure was beautiful... heres a pic from today ,,,no fish i guess i shuld go for scene shots ..grrrrrrrrr

seen a few fellers out walkin deep sno ...lotsa drifts ...but can be done ...just go slo n steady ...skidoos making paths too so by wed shuld be ok ...good luck ..keep us posted

We were sitting in just about the same spot yesterday till noon,with nothing but a small herring(that was released) to show for our efforts.....We were marking lots of fish also.....TC and tight lines.........Chuck........

well with the mild weather today, and a good -15 tonight, AND A new set of 4 chains... I'm wondering how it will be tomorrow ;)

i literally had to de-ice my scooter.. its a wonder it did as good as it did when I saw all that was froze up into it.

well  I will get out for a few more washings ...i may have to resort to live bait...have to hit da local shop...really dont want em but ...the perching will start to get good soon too so will need em fer dat too i spose,,,omg when ya thing of all da fishing opportunities commin up ..i gets all eggcited ...

Well Horseshoe I'd say a Crappie day is expected next week.

 

Mike I always chipped off the ice on my Atv before putting it back in the garage. I used a small rubber mallet to wack it off. An old screwdriver to break the chunks into more managable size.

Chains will make a difference especially on bare ice.
