Anyone on this board ever launch a kayak on the lake to go fishing for some of Simcoe's resident species?

God bless,

Sure have. I also use a float tube when it is warm enough.

Hey Rat,

Thanks for the reply. I also love to float tube. Is there a good place to park where I can launch personal non-motorized watercraft? Do they ever check you for whistle, waterproof flashlight etc.? I carry that stuff on my kayak but not on my float tube.

God Bless,

Don

In the Kayak yes. I always carry the safety stuff. It really depends where your fishing  to get stopped. I've never carried the 5 M of floating rope on the float tube. Never really thought of it. My whistle is on my PFD so it's always with me.  There is lots of spots all along the Barrie water front to launch. All of the Oro side has suitable spots as well as most of innisfil.

Thanks horseshoe,

Actually smallmouth are one of my favourite targets. Just have to figure out where to launch in proximity to one of the many shoals. I understand Couchiching is also good for smallmouth bass.

God bless,

Well once the bass season opens i'm sure a few of the fellers here can head ya to a good area....with the price of gas now ya cant afford to be driving all over H to fish ...kemp bay  usually holds lots of surprizes....and you get good parking and launching ,,,c u on the water ...safe boating
