After watching the weather report the last couple of days for some calm wind to get out on Simcoe for another try at catching some Whitefish. Mother nature was nice enough to offer a few hours this morning for a quick trip out.
Called up Horseshoe to make plans to meet up at Innisfil Beach Park. A change in fishing partner was in order since OP has been hogging all the action on the last couple of fishing trips.

A small group of boats had formed in about 60 ft of water.

Horseshoe checked his GPS and tried some old spots that has produced in the past while staying away from the crowd. Checking both his fish finder and Vexilar, Horseshoe keyed in on some active fish.

Being the gracious host, Horseshoe let me land the first two whitefish of the day. He was swift on the net as each fish surface. A worthy quality to look for when finding a replacement for a fishing partner.
Not too be out done, Horseshoe lands a nice laker in the 6-7 lb range followed by a couple whitefish of his own.
We ended up landing about 8 or 9 whities before heading in before the high wind and rain came. A small group of boats started to form a few feet away from our spot as we left.

Four came home with us to be given away to family and friends that are non-fisher person.

Hey Slug, I'd say you learned a few things from ol'Horseshoe ... No skunks either! I had a chance to get out today too. Fish were hitting pretty good in this weather. My only regret is that I couldn't stay there all day!! Great report and pics. ~dokdok
