I want to take my aunt and uncle who are in their 80.s fishing. I will be going out of Cooks Bay Marine and would like to go after whitefish, lake trout, or pike. I have a well equipped boat, downriggers planerboards and a good fishfinder/depthsounder. I have never fished Lake Simcoe and would appreciate any help I can get as to where to go, technique and what to use. Although elderly both my aunt and uncle have been avid fisherman. A thank you in advance for any information.

Usually we launch out of Sibbald Provincial Park.
A good place to start if its your first time is look for the crowd of boats out on the main lake. THey are usually in about 65-70 ft of water. You can't miss them. Find a spot near them and try to mark active fish on bottom and then achor. Jig with Pimples (Oldphart's favourite), bad boyz or Williams.
If the crowd don't produce any then go deeper. If all fails then look for Horseshoe on the water. He put me on some fish the other day.
