I'm just curious if any out of towners on the board here are planning on coming up before the hard water for some perch fishing??

Hi

Was thinking of going up on Tuesday or Wednesday.  Would appreciate any advice as to where to start looking and should I go with live or artifical baits.

Are you entering the derby on Oct. 4 dunny?

Its been two weeks now that OP and I have been fishing for perch. Not a ton of jumbo but a few there. We been getting a lot of catfish while perching. Last year we never caught one catfish on Simcoe.

Yal I chase the perch but I go off from Jackson's point and fish between the island. I guess I"ll get out after the moose hunt  around the end of October. I only get out about twice as it depends on the wind and the weekends,,,,,,,,,,

THere might be a lot less people willing to travel this year due to the high gas price.

yes that will definitely have an affect. Overall the numbers of boaters I saw on Simcoe seemed less this year - myself included.
