~~~Well asusal Slug, and I were pre-phishen for Rocky's Perch Derby on Sunday, we brought Shovel with us to be Bait-Boy(someone has to pass the minnows). We marked lots of bait balls, with very little action around them. At one point Shovel hooks into a great looken Smallie, and Slugs say " I'll get the net" oh no I said, this is not good, and sure enough, right by the boat, Shovel's PB Slug knocks the Bass off the hook. I learn quite a few new Italian words that day, mostly address to Slug, and his Brith-Right, and if his Parents had any kids that lived, had to translate, he mutters alot, and I mean alot, like most of the day.
But we did get into some Perch, almost at the same spot WD and I were at last weekend. Moved over to a flat Jiggie, and I know, some action there, but not the size I'm looking for, met up with Rocky out the also pre-phishen for his Derby. Also was able to put 4 more Gobbies to rest, hit your bait as soon as it hits bottom
Here's some pics
was out this morning and was surprized to see about 20 boats in the bay off pefferlaw. Not bad for a wednesday
I got a couple of very nice jumbos and look forward to when they are going wild.
We did alright. A buddy of ours had some boat problem so we had to tow him in to the marina then went back out with not enough gas to try some of the deeper water. How did you make out? Were you launching when we left?
You can pre-register online at cifc.org or register at Sibbalds point at the boat launch. Its about 20 bucks cheaper to preregister. The weather report doesn't look to bad for the weekend. Cloudy with Sun and 10 km/h wind.
