OP, Shovel and I decided to stick close to home incase we needed to pull out OP's boat. It was the first time I got my boat on the water this year. We launched out of Whitby at about 6am.

The day didn't start too good since the motor would not start. Finally started and headed out. Once out of the marina, The boat would only run over 1000 rpm, going about 6 mph. We decided to go out anyway and burn off the bad gas in the tank hoping things would work better later. We could not fly across the lake anyway since it was a rough day out.

Headed out to 160 ft of water and set up four lines on the downrigger. About 2 hours of floating around in the rain and no hit so we decided to head shallower in about 75 ft of water where we were marking fish on the way out.

Set up a dipsey diver with a black and purple spoon on the advice of Shovel. Finally first fish of the day on the dipsey.

Reset the dipsey and a few minutes later another one on. Shovel managed to get it close to the boat before it spit the hook.

OP was next on deck and landed this nice trout using a dipsey diver also.

We only managed 2 knock off on the down riggers.

Towards the end of the day the motor started to cooperate and OP decided to see how fast we can go. Big mistake. Note to self, OP driving + big waves + high speed = not good!! Now I know why he doesn't drive on the road.  :D  Gave us all a scare since we hit a big wave and was airborn. It was starting to get real rough out so we headed in.

Tuesday, Shovel and I headed to Balsam. Shovel landed a couple nice bass but it was a real slow day.
