Hi newby ...welcome to the board ...where are you staying ///gives us an idea what area you will be fishing...there are several islands but i think i know which one you mean but you got me wondering ...great weekend to come up cuz for u thats good timing for the hardwater challenge happening that weekend too  ...werth entering some good prizes too ...got sidetracked there sorry ...as of Saturday the lake was a messsssss aweful aweful ...but the good news its gotten colder now and currently its  - 11 C here rite now with the long range saying - 9 to - 16 C all week ...that being the case and not too much snow predicted hopefully the ice /slop surface will freeze up tighten up and allow access with quads...bring your chains incase...i spoke to one guy yesterday who went out a mile had a lot of trouble getting off and wouldnt go back out ...but that has all changed now with the cold. its almost a get up and see/test thing....but i feel you 'll be fine , maybe some of the  atv pro's can tell ya more

now for the fishing ...again depends where you are to get minnows but always have ya minnows and then play with ya jigs etc ...and you may find ya have to go wee bit deeper .....i wont be out now for a while so i cant help ya much more ...but lotsa good members here will try give ya heads up and safe info ...

dont forget the camera and take some pictures and give us a report ...good luck and safe fishin
