The Thames closes on the 15th for two months. They also changed the limit to 4 from 6. There is a slot limit of one fish over 18".
Last year the walleye in the river averaged 16". By the time the fish were in the lake they averaged 18". By October the walleye were averaging 22". This spring I don't think I will be fishing the river, just too busy with this new product launch.
The fish are in the river I am told,,, ahhh maybe tomorrow I will steal a few hours and catch some walleye for dinner.

I was fishing down at the Kilworth bridge in London today....Lots of bass right now, but a buddy of mine landed a really nice walley. Roughly 2 1/2 pounds.
Below the Fanshawe damn is usually just loaded with big pike and walleye and the always fun Carp.
I'm heading down tomorrow morning for a couple of hours..
Happy fishin'.

London Report (19-May-08):
Dok and I got out this afternoon ... nasty cold and damp weather (cursin'). Fork of the Thames was pretty shallow for this time of year. Seen some fly fishers' in waders down by Harris park. Didn't getta' chance to talk to them thou. Yeah, the only thing I caught was a buzz from my timmies (couple of hits missed). Dok hooked onto a nice bottom feeder, almost got'em up to the bank and his line let go. I'd say about an 8lb carp ... so I gave him a 1/2 point for that one! He gave a good show (lol) ... I keep tellin' him to change that old line (Pic attached - "The one that got away")!!
Score: "dok = 0.5 and dokdok = 0 (skunked).
After about an hour of that nonsense we packed er' in. Yeah, cold and damp with that wind. Needed somethin' harder than timmies to keep your teeth from chatterinnnnn'! Lotta' wildlife in the area that kept us amused .... We spotted canadian geese and their ducklings, mallard ducks, coons, and turtles. Dok said he seen a couple of salmon too, I can't say for sure ... his eyesight is better than mine!! Next week springbank area and it better be warmer (Dam' wind)!! ~dokdok

London Report (24-May-08):
Dok and Dokdok were on the Thames today (am) near Springbank park in London ON.
It was a beauty day for fishin'! It started off slow but the action started to pick-up. Dok hooked into somethin' pretty decent ... It was a nice size catfish but he failed to land it. Line snapped about 2 feet from shore!!
I (dokdok) was day dreamin again! I do this quite a bit when in the great outdoors ... suddenly my fishin' rod that was propped up on the river bank decided to do a little fly fishin'. Yeah, I got a hold of it thou' in knee deep water! I landed a 17.4lb carp!! using a battered up old worm and light tackle. Boy that was a heavy fish (broke my damn rod). Yeah, I was usin' corn earlier but had no luck with that. Sure glad I switched to worm ... Dok (0.5 point) and Dokdok (1 point). Now were tied if we count last weeks fishin results. (Pics to follow)
Next week Lake Erie (Port Stanley and Glasgow area weather permitting)!!
