Last night Dok  calls me up and says he needs a little shore fish. I took along his new lucky GofishOnt hat to surprise him. Thought that it would set the mood for monster catchin' time!!

If you want a really decent spin cast at a good price.. check out the Rhino... hard to break those and they've come down in price the last couple of years.. they're two models of them still available I think.

As for the hat, well the luck speaks for itself!!!

Hi guys...

Anyone ever fished down by the cricket ground at the end of Maitland St in London? Thinking about taking my son down there tomorrow morning... there's sort of a beach at the far end of the park then it looks like it gets fairly deep.

Well, it's not much of a cricket ground... just a cow pasture with a pitch in the middle. But the river has a big S around it, with a small rapids at the top and some deep water in the bend, then it widens out a bit as it leaves to park. Accessible from either side, but the south bank you have to park just off Wellington and walk a ways.

Say, you aren't the Rehan I played squash with @ the Y are you?

A friend and I went out yesterday around 4 and we fished until 10 at night.  We were in Greenway Park, and we built a small fire and fished in the dark.  It was amazing.  After dark we  caught 3 or 4 catfish.  Nasty lookin' buggers.    But we'll definitely be going back for some night fishing.

I agree that they're ugly.. tried them once when I was a teen ager and won't eat them again.. last year Mrs Mike caught a lot of catfish.. but they weren't even allowed in the boat lol.. I'd get the pliers and pull them off the hook while they were over the water.... something about them gives me the heebie-jeebies...

I caught a 5lb channel cat in London last month, cleaned him up and I still haven't gotten around to preparing the meal. I'd like to find more of them around here, they're a hell of a fight and can get really big!

I want to see what the catfish look like in the daylight.  We only had a small flashlight and a campfire.  The catfish appeared to be orange.  ugh they looked like little gremlins with fins. haha
