Hey Horseshoe, thanks for your reply (hahaha)! Yeah, I was out tryin' to catch some smallies and I love usin' light tackle for that ... This one caught me by surprise, What a Monster ... and there's bigger ones than that in this spot. All you need is patience!!

The fishin' rod is now a trophy ... Yeah, I got a spot picked out in the garage "the first fish caught this year". Nice memories to have eh' (lol) ~dokdok

The London Report May 30-08

I was sittin' at my desk about 11:00am this mornin' thinkin' I already got about a day and a halfs work done ... I peeked out the window and and it still isn't rainin' yet ...  I bet those bass are just itchin to get a little worm in their belly!!

Now I don't normally go fishin' around lunch time. From past experience I've never been a big believer of fishin' anytime after 11:am up to about 4pm in the afternoon. I always found it to be slow and unrewarding, at least as far as catchin' fish goes.

I am a believer of fishin' just before a storm hits ... Does somethin' to the fish in a good way ....

Yeah, I proved myself wrong about the lunch hour thing... I slipped down to an old hot spot on the thames in west London. My twin bro (dok) was still workin so I (dokdok) was on my own today. I got my gear already and had a listen to the river. Lots of fish just jumpin' all around me. This is good .. This is real good I thought. They must sense the storm comin' too. I usually fish for bottom feeders. Today I changed to a float, a bit of weight (1/4oz) and a nice sharp hook. Hooked a full worm through one end, attached a nice size float about 3 feet above the bait. (I found a spot where there is lots of structure and downed tree limbs). Cast Away! The river was movin' moderately fast. Ohhh boy, Hit and a miss, 2nd hit and a damn miss... Cast out again about 15-20 feet near a downed tree branch .. bait was about a foot off the bottom and Slam (missed again) ... Recast and a big hit about 12 feet out from shore. Landed a 15in smallie. What a beauty!!

In the hour that I was there I caught 2 more bass (6 to 10 inch range). Boy am I glad I got out today!!!

Tip of the day - Remember to upload all pics on camera before you head out fishin'. Yeah, damn card was full. Youngest boy must of been takin' movies again!

Tip# 2 - Always check to make sure all gear is in your bag before ya leave. Sunglasses missin'. Yeah, I got my exercise today, all the way to the car too!! Boy did I miss dok ~dokdok

London Report May 31-08

Another day on the Thames .. yeah we beat the rain and I had Dok with me too! Our goal was to see who could out fish the other (we've always been competitive like that!!) Boy what a difference a day makes. No Bass today, so we switched to bottom feeders again. I got the first hit "What a Monster"!! Dok was kind enough to wrestle this one in for me.

OK this one wasn't the biggest one we ever caught, but I betcha I had you on the edge of your seat!?!

Dok hooked onto one too! I'll let you decide which one is bigger...
