Great Spinner Tips F_D!

Live Worms:

I usually pick my own worms after a good rain! :cool:. (Fresh is always best!!)

Yeah, I've been tryin' to get my youngest boy to pick'em for me. So far all he does is hold the flash light!! :doh:

Believe it or not, you can buy them at Canadian tire store (CTC) :tu: $2.50 / dz

or Walmart on Wellington Rd south. $5.00 / 2dz (These guys make enough money so I make this my second choice!)

There is also a fishing supply outlet :bugeye: on Adelaide south that might still sell them (Nice place!).

My brother in law, nephew and myself got out this morning for a little father's day fishing.  We went to my trusty spot around the kilworth bridge. My brother in law caught a white bass and rock bass, I caught a white bass as well.  As usual my trusty mepps spinner was my go to lure, but my brother in law caught his using a mister twister.  I also had a gar chase down my rapala minnow and strike it, but as usual, the gar got away.  I got a pic with my cell phone this time.

Better luck next time catchin' that Gar. I've seen em' in the rivers but never had the chance to land one. They seem to spook easy ...

And those tackle tips ... I gotta search for my spinners, clean em up and give a try! Thanks for sharing ~dokdok

Got out twice this weekend.  Once Friday night... got skunked not even a bite!  Maybe I need to switch up my strategy for night fishing.  I also went out Sunday morning.  Second cast I caught a rock bass, makes up for Friday night I guess.  I used a mepps aglia #3 to catch it, which I proceeded to lose on a snag shortly there after, doh!  I decided to switch things up a bit and try a top water lure.  It's a floating lure with a rattle in it, that your supposed splash around and simulate a dying fish.  Let me tell you, the small mouth I caught struck at it like crazy, it was pretty cool to see.  So all in all, other than losing two lures I was pretty happy.

Your right, I was fishing around the kilworth area.  It's only 5 minis from my house so it's pretty convenient.  I actually brought a digital camera with me this time!  Much better then the cell phone pics.  I was speaking with another fisherman there who told me the  bridge near the Delaware speedway is another good place to catch fish, so I might give that a go soon.  As for the lures... yeah one was sort of my fav, but fortunately it's not very expensive and readily available.

Hey F_D, I didn't make it to that spot in Delaware yet. Dok and I got a window of opportunity last night before all the forecasted rain hit the area thou. Yeah, we hit our usual hot spot on the Thames about 7:45pm and I've always said that fishin' before a storm hits is the best time to fish. I'm glad this rule held true again last night cause there wasn't much day light left and we had to hook some fast! (lol)

Dok had the first hit and he landed a beauty small mouth (14"+) and before ya no it I hooked into a nice bass too. We were soon joined by a lady ... who I soon learned loved fishin' as much as Dok and I !! Anyway, I hooked into a nice bass too ... than Dok landed a cat and another bass, I hooked into a monster smallie, gotter to the bank and she let go (@#$%@). Got a good glimpse of 'em too! This fisherlady was really watchin' our goins-on at this point ...

Anyway, there wasn't too much daylight left (about a half hour or so), then finally I hooked and landed a rather large catfish (catphish - That's for you OP!!). Now thaaat puts a smile on me!!! In all the excitement, the fisherlady rushes over to join Dok and I ... she asks to see my fish ;)... you could see that she was genuinely excited too ...!

The fisherlady had not caught anything yet and explained she was fairly new to the sport. I figured anyone that shows up to fish that time of day with a cooler in hand, makes a cast, sits herself down and begins munchin'on takeout while waiting for the fish to bite must be either crazy or as passionate about fishin' as Dok and I.

Dok and I shared a few of our fishin' secrets that night. Before ya know it she was landin' a few nice fish too! She was laughing with excitement and joy and Dok and I just smiled, Yeah, it was another great day on the water F_D!!!

dok = 4, dokdok = 3 (Mine was bigger!!)

Catch and Release, you'll be glad ya did tomorrow!

Enjoy your long weekend everybody, I know I will :P ~dokdok
