I managed to slip out for about an hour this morning .. sky was clear, breeze was light, nature trails all around me and beautiful clear spring fed water just waiting for my first cast. A couple of canoers could be seen in the distance. Boy, I really miss this spot. This is the perfect place to bring your kids. No shortage of sunfish and rock bass. Scrappy little fellows on ultra light tackle.

There was another local who soon joined me on the dock, coffee in one hand and a half a loaf a bread in the other. He was not a fisherman ... He was a retiree and loved comin' to this spot every mornin' to feed the fish. As I soon witnessed, he had a different motive in mind!  As he was tellin' me his fish tale, he explained that down in the weed bed below the dock a pike had figured out to visit this spot and wait for breakfast! This gentleman had quite a few fish around the dock by now and he kept tossing pieces of bread on the water and before you knew it, the pike come up from the shadows below and slammed the top of the water. I dam near sh@t myself!! This fella just stood back and smiled and said "I told ya so"!!

Yeah, Great day to be fishin' folks. I hope you get a chance to wet your line (or pants) too! ~dokdok

Catch and Release, you'll be glad ya did tomorrow!

Pond Mills Conservation offers hiking trails, geocaching, fishing and boating.

Lots of people and volenteers to thank for keeping this area pristine! Their on the job all the time, watching and keeping this place in top form. Thanks, you made my day special!

Extended family weekend fun ... I had a nice treat tonight!! My wife and youngest son invited me out for a little stroll through the park and then off to the conservation pond to do some fishing. Boy did we have fun too!! Yeah, another great day on the water folks. I hope you had a chance to enjoy it too!

Wife and son checking for the perfect spot to cast a line!

Caught one (of many!!)

Son's first lg.mouth (not bad!!)

Caught another one Dad!

We met lots of great fishers tonight too! I watch this fella catch one monster after another!! Bit of worm and a slip boober (oops) I meant bobber seemed to do the trick!!

Lots of fun folks and an end to a perfect day!!
