Had a chance to slip out tonight and bring Dok Jr with me!

He hasn't fish too much this year but you wouldn't know it ... Out fished Dok tonight (lol) ... We had a lot of fishin' fun at our usual spot in town. It was too late to head to the lake. Dok Jr caught one after another and made his Daddy proud! :D

Here's a few pix

Dok was going for the monster and come close with this one!

Hope you had a chance to wet your line too! :P ~dokdok

Nice fish!  They were biting pretty good last night.  I finally made it out to the komoka bridge by the speedway last night.  Seems like a pretty good place to fish.  Really shallow in some places though, I'll have to do some more scouting for better spots.

Talked with a few people there, said they were catching some smallmouth with worms.  I started out using a drop shot rig with a berkely gulp worm, but wasn't having much luck, then floated some real worms for a bit.  I had my worm stolen a few times and that was enough for me.  So I switched it up to white a mr. twister and that's when I started getting bites.  I caught a rock bass and something else... not quite sure what it was.  It was long and slender, kinda slivery, but sort of had a mouth like a sm bass.  There was some big fish jumping and attacking the surface, but it was just small guys for me.

I'm looking forward to hittng that area again and trying some new things.

Thanks everyone! We always have fun fishin' no matter where we go!! I caught some nice ones too ... I would have post mine but it makes dok jealous (hahaha). Hey Meizi I caught a good size catfish from your spot but no trout!

Vans, Dok Jr is getting better at handling the fish. I think once he gets over the squeemies and is able to put the bait on the hook himself we'll be fishin' quite a bit more together... I'm really looking forward to that (hahaha)!

Yeah Horseshoe, there certainly is somethin' with those GoFishOnt hats!! Seem to do the trick everytime ... We never leave home without them (hahaha) and when ya team them up with a timmies .... catchin' monsters all night (lol).

Enjoy your weekend everbody .... Get out there and catch a monster!!!

droolin' :D ~dokdok

Hey Furious, Glad to have ya back on the board! I haven't got out to that spot yet. Thanks for doing all the work (hahaha). We'll have to try it soon. (send me a PM next time you go and I'll try to get some free time to join ya!!)

I took your advise on the spinner bait and put my own little twist on it... I've modified a few lures and play a spiiner without a hook and then tie on a leader and swivel below it using a smaller hook and a bit of bait (worms, leaches or powerbait). Use different color spinners when you think a change is required. Silver or yellow seem to work for me.

Yeah, It's been doin' the trick and you'd be surprised what you can catch near shore too. At certain times of the day usin' a jig method and poppin' it into deeper holes and structure along the bank will produce some nice fish. Be ready 'cause they hit hard and may take ya in the water. A couple times this year I've got me feet wet (lol).

WOW I gotta get back out there soon .... I can feel a monster comin' on!! (hahahaha)

Dok and I are heading to Delaware tomorrow. He claims there is a tourny this weekend at Sharon Creek. I haven't been able to find any info yet but I figure we'll head out there anyway and try our luck!! We've caught some nice bass down that way this year. I hope the weather holds out (hahaha)

dokdok, I am always ready and willing to share what ever info I can.  I wish I had my camera with me to take some pics.  That would be great to have a fishing partner, swap some tips and techniques.

Sounds like a really interesting set up.  That's great that it's been working out for ya.

Weather permitting, and depending on when my wife goes into labour, I might pop out there tonight or tomorrow morning.  I'll keep you posted.  If you don't hear from me in a while, then you know why ;)
