Hi everyone,
I've been fishing around the thames and Fanshawe in London and I keep hearing there's pike to be caught. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use and where I might find these guys? Feel free to send me a PM or reply here.
thanks in advance.

Hello Scugog!
Now I'm not a pike fisher but there are a few guys here that are pretty experienced at landin' those toothy monsters! hahaha
Last post that I can remember was fairly recent from the Komoka area on the Thames.... If he sees this post, he'll gladly share his tips with ya too.
I've been out fishin' with him and he loves to fish the thames!!
Here's a post from Furious_D and he lists what he used to catch em' too!

There are pike around but they seem to be few and far between. I caught one out in Komoka around spring time using a mepps #3 black fury (chartreuse dots If i remember correctly)
If you check out this site: http://www.fishingfury.com/20070709/london-ontario-pike-and-carp-fishing/
You'll see he caught one around the Queens Ave Bridge. I have also heard of them being caught around Labbats damn. Most people seem to be catching them using spinners. That's about all the info I got. If your ever in the komoka area let me know and I can show you around a bit.

Hey thanks for the replies everyone
I'll give those spots a try; also heard of some spots on the south thames (Woodstock-Dorchester) that hold them as well. Not easy spots to get to, but I've got a few ideas on where to go.
Had decent success in the area with walleye, carp and bass so figured it's time to see what other species I can track down. Will post pics next time I'm out. Also if anyone ever needs company fishing let me know, usually up for a trip.
cheers,
scugog

| Forgot to mention, I've never been there myself, but I know there are pike being caught at Wildwood conservation area near St. Marys.

The Thames below the dam in Woodstock is a good place to try. I pulled a 10 lber out of there two yrs ago in November and have seen some other nice ones pulled in. Most of them tend to be little snot rockets but if you have a good morning and catch 1/2 a dozen it's still a lot of fun!
