Now, Don't be packing your fishing gear away yet!
Lots of great fishing opportunities to be had and if your like me, your probably itchin' to wet your line right now ...hahahaha :D

So, it's me first time ice fishin' this year and I'd love to hear from you London and area fishers!! Maybe it's your first time too! Soooo lets get a plan together ...
- Where you ice fish locally, what ya use (equipment, tackle etc)
Maybe we gets a group together to tackle the hard water eh? Has a little fishin' fun!

And if we hits a few stumbling blocks, we has our friends and good members here to help us out!

Lets Do It !!! :P droolin' ~dokdok

Well, more white stuff in London again today! Here's what I woke up to ...
Maybe we takes a trip over to a local pond later and see how things are shaping up there!

Westminister Ponds in London South was pretty quiet today. I took a quick trip over on me lunch hour and snapped a few shots.
Spoke to one fella and he was there yesterday and said that the trails were too mucky to walk safely. Now that they are snow covered, the trails aren't too bad for getting some exercise on, so get out there and enjoy it ... don't forget the family dog! :P

Coming down the trail to the docks ...

Water Level is up ...

Some Scenic shots of the area ...

When DokJr and I were canoeing there in the summer I'd say it could get up to 15 feet deep but with water levels up yesterday it would be closer to 20 feet now.

I remember we caught a few nice bass then too! (Jul-08).

Hey guys... I was out just West of the Bridge in Delaware yesterday (That's right during the snow) and got 2 nice Walleye. Both around 4lbs and both released back into the river...

Anyone know of any other places the fish are still biting?? What's a little snow? We're CANADIAN aren't we???

LOL

Have a great weekend y'all... I'm heading up to Port Credit and cash in on the last of the Salmon running into the river.

GO GATORS!!

And remember... You can't catch fish if your line ain't wet!

Well... The salmon weren't biting... Playing on top of the water chasing the snowflakes... No matter what anyone tried they just wouldn't take a hook.  I even had my fly rod in the car and though "Hey what the heck! Might as well give it a shot since nothing else seems to be working."  So off to the car I went and got my fly rod and seeing how the "Steelies" seemed to be chasing the snow flakes I tied on a beautiful White Horse Hair Nymph Fly with Gold Streamer... Despite tossing it right on top of more than one fish... NOTHING!!!  Guys all around couldn't believe it... They had been hitting hot and hard in the mornings and just around 5:00-6:00pm Thursday and Friday but for whatever reason they were completely turned off of feeding and were more interested in catching snowflakes on their tongues.

Hoping to head back out to Delaware to see if the Walleyes are still holding in there... I hear some guys are catching Walleyes up at the Fanshawe Dam too... Anyone else hear anything of the sort?? Oh... And apparently from a very reliable sourse (MNR) the perch are starting to bite out at Port Stanley...

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

As always, "You can't catch fish if your line ain't wet!!"

BTW - If you're a College Football Fan like myself catch The Florida Gators vs The Florida State Seminoles Saturday Afternoon Live on ABC Sports at 3:30pm.  Sometimes referred to as "The Battle for the Governor's Cup", it has been the yearly meeting of Florida State Rivals since 1958.  This year's match up will mark 51 Meetings of the State Rival Football Powers with The Gators owning The Nole's 30-18-2.  That's right... 2 Ties (1961; 3-3  & 1994; 31-31)  Also of notes it has been twice that these teams have met in The Sugar Bowl, with each school owning a win.  In the 1994 Sugar Bowl Fla State speared The Gators 23-17 on a last second TD run, but in 1996 The Gators chomped up The Nole's with a 52-20 trouncing.

Fishing or Football??  Hmmm... Maybe I'll take my portable TV Fishing!!!!

GOOOOO GATORS!!
