Ice is coming along nicely and is going to get even better over the next day or two.

Fishing an area that I like around Big Bay, slower today than it was yesturday but the day was a lot shorter fishing as well. Only out for 1.5 hours and play tag with a few perch and a roaming walleye. The perch were having fun swiping the odd minnow from me when all of a sudden bang, down goes the rod tip. Oh 4-5 minutes later and a little wore down up through the hole comes a 7(?) pound walleye. Only fish cauught by me tonight but well worth the venture onto the ice. Wieght is only a guess since I do not scale fish but I did get the length at 26.5-27 inches with a good girth to boot. No pics. of this one just a few witness fishers with one in disbelief that the walleye was put back down the hole.

Was at Sherman's yesterday and it has 4-6", a little less the further out your go, dont know exactly how much but 2 guys that I overheard that were fishing almost to the other side were saying that there was more ice in closer and they were walking in.  Only saw 4 fish caught from 1-6pm.  Hope this helps
