WOW
Went for a venture ... out towards Virginia ... thought a change is in order .. on route I came across many guys 'fishing' around Sibbalds point .. No pile beside them so Either Everyone is Hiding fish or there NO fish ... From Experience ,I've found There's no Fish in Simcoe . HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ... I guess those guys are finding that out today .. Maybe not .. BUT ....
So Off around the Sand Islands We go ... and ......WOW Look at that first Picture .. WIDE OPEN ! ! ! !
That's only about 2 ft deep but would sure scare the crap outa ya !
Wanted to go 'Wilcraft wading' just for experience but hence there was no video cameraman ... onward...
We ventured just beyond the ferry run and ... Fish on ! ! ! 11 ft of water .
.. on still 25 inches of ice ..
But as you can see there ARE SPOTS ! ! ! !
The run-off is taking the shores ... The sun is taking the Shoals and the beaches ... Ya better be a 'smart guy' not a 'wise guy' if your gonna go out ! ! The rain has Loosened the pressure cracks , crossing them is ify . The rivers are really showing their springtime freshness . This is the weather we shoulda had two weeks ago..
My opinion... No more trucks ... LMAO ... there was still two out there fishing and ''Their'' still blasting across to the Island . Crazy doing 50 miles an hour on this kinda ice .. That open water is less than a quarter mile away!
Should be.... no more sleds / quads etc ... But everyone knows guys go out till their carrying wood to walk on ...Me included.. .
There is NO MORE SNOW AT ALL . on the ice .. Glare ice conditions. With open water spots around as mentioned ...
HI Sly ...thanks for the report, the pictures and the heads up...yesterdays melt and rain are showing effects everywhere...theres still a few spots accessible with ATVs etc but those spots will soon be iffy as well ...spring is around the corner...and thanks for the picture of the fish,,,,hummm i only see one person catching dont tell me she outfished ya again today ...lafffffinnnnnn...well done...be safe
