Hey silverthorn, I have fished a couple locations on gull lake......I have had the most success in miners bay. You can get access directly off of Hwy 35...via miners bay rd. Lots of small to mid-size lakers in this lake. Remember, only 1 line is allowed.  I have seen a few good size fish come out, but the norm I would say would be 20-24 inches.

Good Luck!!!

There is a slot limit on Gull Lake now and everything between 15.7 inches and 21.7 inches has to go back. Tip-ups work well for both Whitefish and Lakers using small minnows. My son and I were there today and he outfished me 2 to 1 with a herring to boot. I had to jig a buckshot to get mine and even he admitted that it was the biggest one for the day. Easy day for me as I practiced catch and release But I made the boy clean his catch.

Later and tight lines.

I have heard of bigger fish being caught in the spring at deep bay but I personally have not been able to get out there in the spring. I also have been targeting the whitefish that just keep eluding me out there. Well I hear that Simcoe is safe where I want to go so it's time to put the ATV back together and get out there.

Thanks for the info fella's about Gull Lake.  Didn't have much luck:shock:

Ended up landing 6 laker's...all under 2 pounds. We marked a mountain of fish but i think we were about 2 weeks early. All fish were caught at about 40-60 ft.  Nothing was sitting high like expected.  We had our best luck at a small lake called  "BOB LAKE".  One of the guys that was with me brought in a nice fish.  28" at 4 1/2 lbs.

Lot's of whitefish though...

If I can figure out how to post pics I will.

Happy fishin' boys!

Silverthorn.

That's me holding up a monster!...LOL  First fish of the week.

Good to see that you made it up and had some fun. I always say that it's not how many fish that you catch but the adventure.
