Dokdok,

what part of the Thames do you fish? When I went to university in London use to go out by Highbury St. and fish the river there. Tons of bigguns there. It was a good place to wet a line between classes.

Hey Slug, Yeah I know that spot too! I find pretty much anywhere in the Thames will sport ya somethin' decent (patience is the key) ... Carp thrive in this town!! I gotta a few scenic spots on the west side that I like to fish. Down near Springbank Park is a pretty good spot, especially before they close the dam!

The trick is you gotta find areas that have good running water and pockets near the shore. That always works for me!!

Depending on the bait used you can catch plenty carp, catfish, smallmouth bass, trout, perch, suckers ... I've even caught sheephead  in the Thames! If I'm feelin' lazy and just want to catch a few rays and take in the nature (you know stress relief!!), I grab some left overs from the fridge, place it on a hook with lots of weight and see what happens. I call this bottom feeding fish frenzy! You'll be surpised what ya catch!! Tip: hang a bell on yer rod and have a little snooze while you wait for that monster! ~dokdok

PS. Did my schooling in business at UWO (some time ago). What year were you there?

Hey, Keep those posts comin' ... I really enjoy readin' about your fishin trips with the oldphart gang (lol)!! Nice to see your also learnin' from others like horseshoe too!

I study chem at UWO and finished school in 2004.

The Thames is filled with Carp and some good size bass. Also caught a few closer to the University. Once in awhile you will get a glimpse of a few drunks floating down it in a tube...:). Weekend are your best bet to see them. Try to dangle a beer bottle on 80lb powerpro and you should get a few to bite. Labatt is the lure of choice since it is native to the water around London.:D
