Planning on dragging my Father in Law off his chair to go fishing this weekend in the Midland area.. Anyone know some spots we should be able to catch and release?

Oh.. Shore areas.. no boat.. don't want to lose the Father in Law overboard .. or the Wife yet...

Well if it's big enough I might decide it's worth keeping cleaning and cooking....

I found a similar thread on FishOntario that had a few spots listed, but the weather was lousy... so the only fishing the wife and I did was from Penetangs Dock... I got skunked and the wife caught a sunfish I think it was.. was getting too dark to tell...

Guys next to us caught a barely legal pickerel and tons of perch/sunfish.

Hopefully I can check a few of the other spots out in a few weeks..

The one launch I know for sure is over at Penetang Town Dock beside "Dock Lunch"

Resauraunt... decent food.

Hazzards hmm.. watch for logs and railroad ties....

Species I have 'heard' were there

Pike, Pickerel, Muskie

Caught myself

Perch, Bass, Gobbie

seen a few catfish pulled out .. kinda small.. but shorefishin.

Forgot to mention the launch at Town Dock in Penetang is pay..

And it's right at the end of HWY 3 in town. OH... nice big dew worms available at the Daisy Mart just before there across from the park.
