Making my first trip out with the new boat ;OTHER than Simcoe.Friend of mine lives on Pigeon Lake and has extended an invite.
Is anyone familiar with this lake? Just wondering how bad the rocks and hazards are on the lake. I get a little nervous taking the new boat out on unfamilair waters...so far anyway!
Oh ya, and where are the fish? lol
Thanks in advance.

Hey Disspatcher:
Where are you putting in at? I've been at the far end, (Nogie's Creek) several times and can help you at that end.

Thanks toXXik;
I was just looking at that fishing map before you posted it.
Im pretty much going to be at the west side of the lake, near Long Pt.Bay.
Im really concerned about the rocks ect there, I have been on Buckhorn before and its deadly with rocks..if you dont know the lake.
Just wondering if Pigeon is as bad.
But like I said ...any tips whether its fishing or boating will help.

I've fished as i said all in the north end, fishing up there is A+.
Water is all 8ft and up. Near Red Rock island, you can go right up to the big island and touch it and it's still 20ft deep. Only shallows I found was fishing in the channel up Nogie's Creek, but it's all Musky action there. To the east there is alot of rock piles stock with smallies but no rocks to cause worry on the boat, i took mine everywhere and never came close. Down by Steamboat Island trolling, we picked up muskies and in the Back Channel the water is black and depth's to 30 feet, pickeral, bass and muskies. Good luck to you ! Pic is one I caught at 9 pm, 30+ lbs. trolling at the mouth of Nogie's Creek.

theres a launch in Bobcaygeon just west of the over pass thats pretty decent .We fish from there to Hurricane point area . some rocks to watch for at Pleasant point area but nothing crazy.
Have had moderate success with bass but no Muskie ...yet

| Hmm Big Island used to be called Bear Island... bears would get stuck over there when the ice went out.. Lake has a fairly strong current north to south on the east side of that island and there used to be a little cove on the east side of the lake from the island. Just at the south end of that subdivision of cottages, about the middle of the island, it was pretty shallow but when I used to be up there that's where I got Muskie. But I will admit it has been 20 years since I've been up. Biggest hazzard back then was the speedboats.. Used to get good sized Perch north of that cove and Sunfish, Bass, Trout n Pickerel all from shore.
