the eyes have slowed rite down.  you may luck into one.

the pike had been good up till bout two weeks ago.  was getting 10+ lbers on 4" shiners or smelts but they to have shut down.

last couple weeks have been jumbos and crappie out away from the huts and crowd.

back out tomorrow.  let you know if anything of interest bites my line.

Went out past the huts and got a couple of big perch and a couple of big crappie. Just as we were packing up 2 guys showed up drilled a couple of holes and doesnt one of them catch a walleye on a buckshot tipped with a minnow. Atleast 4 lbs. and beatiful color. Oh well next time I may may be ready to stay longer and not so closed minded and willing to try more baits longer.

SKUNKED.

didn't even loose a minoow.

4 fish caught.  i think the biggest was a pike 22.7 cm.  two holes from me. won $9,950 i think.

5" perch got fourth place and won a small boat, motor and trailer.  the rest of the prizes were on random draw and i couldn't even win that.

tried st.john yesterday.  nothing.  stayed closer to the huts.  fished 12- 22 feet and only seen one fish on the finder in 4 hrs fishing.

didn't even get a perch on a maggot.  that is rare.

talked to couple other guys.  they had a crappie way out in 25 feet.

another guy way out had a blue gill.

the fishing there has slowed rite down.

it seems to have slowed down everywhere unless you can get out to 25 feet or more.  nothing in shallow.

i drove by it yesterday and the access at either boat launch is flooded.  can't get on.

the only fish in season there rite now are crappie and perch.  not worth getting wet for.

Thanks Ratherbe. I was just wondering if th ice was off yet or not. I usually go after the crappie there with my boat. Looks like I will have to wait a couple of weeks.
