I can say that I was through Algonquin this past weekend and all the ice was gone except for a couple lakes that just had the final remains left...by Sunday they were clear as well....

(saw 2 moose on the way through, and 6 on the way back)

I got out for some speck action.

Managed a whack load of em, with a couple pusing 12 and 14 inches.

Here's a little teaser for now.

Quality aint so great as it was ripped from a video file.  We've got a bunch of footage for our upcoming season premier of Bingo Bango Fly Fishing.

Hey dokdok,

I was fly fishing, yes.  That fella took a tiny (#10 nymph hook) streamer tied to imitate a brook trout fry.  The fish were pretty co-operative with just about anything you tossed at em on opening day though.  Other excellent brookie flies are the hares ear nymph, caddis larva and elk hair caddis.  I usually avoid live bait when speck fishing.  Its not uncommon to hook and release 30 or 40 trout in a day.  I find with live bait, they inhale the bait so deeply that survival after release is near nil!
