So, Mats aside... what do you think of the new look Leafs? Cliff was true to his word... do you think he made the right moves? Has Bryan McCabe played his last game in blue&white?

Personally I would have kept Tucker (I think he played hurt last year), not sure what the fuss over McCabe  is.. yeah maybe a little overpaid but thats hardly a minority group anymore..The new draft looks very promising as well..

I think McCabe is gone and I'll miss Tucker ...

Well, I would like to think they've invested in a younger stronger team to make an attempt this year! But after reading the attached post I'm not sure what's in store for the leafs ... lacks the "kick some a$$ attitude (lol)"!!

Quote - "The team Fletcher has assembled this summer seems poised to take a further step back in the standings. (huh???)

But Fletcher's mandate is not to turn the Leafs into immediate playoff contenders. Rather, he wants to slowly build the team towards an eventual Stanley Cup run. (Ahhh OK, when??)

So his short-term plan is to transform Toronto, which allowed a fourth-worst 3.12 goals per game in 2007-08, into a tougher team to score and play against." (OK well maybe we should bring back someone who'll get the job done then .... tough guy Tie Domi still has a few rounds left in em' lol !?!)

I guess will have to wait and see !!

My daughter called me last night asking me about a former player who played on both Toronto and Detroit. She was looking for a defencemen ...

Her boyfriend and his father were sitting around talking hockey trivia ...

Yeah, they got asking me about former tough guys ... Dan M. was the fella that I could remember most that played on both teams during his NHL career. But I believe he played forward ... Wow, small world!

You know of any defensemen? .... Hey, maybe it was Carl Brewer .... !!

Any thoughts????

Boy Detroit is spending the money this year and will need more $$ to sign defensemen Chris Chelios and Kyle Quincey.
They are less than $1 million under the NHL’s $56.7 million salary cap.
I wonder who they're gonna trade!?!
I guess we'll find out in September!
