I looked into it heavy last year but didnt have the time for it.. this year it seems they're changing it up a bit as to how to gain access to the trails... but would definitely be interested in joining one...
If there's enough interest, we can add an ATV forum here, but there are already some great message boards out there for atvs.

I just got an 2006 Honda 500 4X4.
I live in Hamilton and will be looking for an ATV club, I hope it goes better than the time I tried to join a local offroad club a few years back LOL!!

| Ha i just got home with my new 700 4 x 4 Arctic cat diesel, the power horse, pic to follow tomorrow. Will club are a good thing if your in the right one as far as I can see so far. There are a number of clubs but the better ones fly under the OFATV groups. I found a few new clubs forming around the Barrie and Simcoe area some have connected with th OFATV. It a little late this year to join as new passes and members ships will be available in October. From what I read for the fee of aprox 140.00 for the year this gives you access to all the OFATV club trails in Ontario. When you become a member one can or we all can go any time and get together for a ride. It does not need to be a club thing to get out on the trails. I'm proposing over the hard water months we look at different clubs and in the spring we as a group agree on one and join. Last edited on Fri Aug 29th, 2008 01:59 am by redfisher

Now i stand to be corrected but I was told that as example if you joined the ofatv and got a pass the pass was valid a year to date...sept 1 08 purchase would get you to sept 1, 09. there are even a few trails local to me in barrie and midhurst for a fun ride....i was invited this sunday but thing i'll fish before i'll ride...
Lemme kno what u find redfisher ...or all of us i shuld say cuz i too am interested ...I did look at the ofatv site.
Congrats on that new machine...sure looking forward to seeing it in action...enjoy that toy and ride safe

After more research I have desided against joining and ATV club, it is all the same political crap as when I thought about joining and offroad club with my old GMC Jimmy 4X4, ..
I will ride with anyone who wants to ride, but as for the OFATV and other such clubs, it is not for me.

Jeff I hear ya but joining will give us access to the trails close and far at the cost of the trail permit. Now I"am open to, if you know where there are trails where we can ride without a pass and with-in say 2 hours drive of Toronto. Say the word and I"ll there with ya. but first I need to get plates and insurance-------
But this is good we have a open mind.........
Know here is a photo of my wife the day after our wedding.

ATV Club's in my area:
Central Ontario ATV Club: http://www.coatv.ca/
North Simcoe ATV http://www.nsatv.org/ (more of a subbury/espanola site)
Northern Rednecks ATV Club http://www.northernrednecks.ca/ (not updated since 2006)
I thought there was one dedicated for Innisfil but I Cant find it right now..
When we went on our trip we debated between Parry Sound and Kawartha trail systems (both offer daily passes).
Kawartha seems to have 100's of kilometers of trails..
http://www.kawarthaatv.com/index.html
A bit of a distance, but might be the better one for trail variety

Red, that is one sweet ride!!
Listen my issue with clubs is this .... I have a real problem with authority to be honest. Now that doesnt mean I am a law breaker or some low life idiot. I seriously dont like being told what I can and can not do.
When I was into 4 wheeling I was going to join a local offroad club, I contacted the man in charge and told him I would like to join up and do some off roading with his club.
His reply was this, He said I could come out to their next event and HE would inspect my truck and if HE deemed it worthy I could run with the club.
My first question for him was a simple one, I am sure any of you would have asked ...
Are you a mechanic? his answer.. No... What gives him the right to inspect my vehicle?
Anyway guys, as I said, the club thing isnt for me, I live in the Hamilton area and have access to a lot of cool farmland to ride, I will start talking to some of them and see if we can get an outing and some play time in the mud.
For those of you in the London area, just go to youtube and search for "Davidsfarm"
Dave Rock has a redneck farm for quadding and just smashing up any old cars/trucks/whatever, and his farm is open to anyone who wants to stop by. Watch his videos and send him a pm.
