3 goals for me for now.....

1...Meet some more of the board members either by coffee or fish, better yet both.

2...Fish more with my wife and get her into softwater fishing, hoping fly fishing will do this

3...Learn to spey cast and fish with a spey or switch rod.

http://www.orillia.com/perchfestival/

That should be the link to the web site... I think I am going to try and head up there for a day or two. I think Waubiman and Brucer are gonna head up too.

I like to hear those plans of doing more family fishing guys, right on. Me too, I'm gonna get the kids out with me as much as possible this year. Brother you can't beat the look on the face of a kid holding onto a drag smoke'n chinook, or the great time had pulling in a healthy haul of perch.

Putting the kids fish on an old stringer attached to the dock also has it's little rewards..;)

Cheers :D

Well Sunfish you had me thinkin what I really want to do this year. I already accomplished one goal by getting my son out ice fishing as much as possible and I'm almost sick of driving (never fishing but I have to shake this stink off). We are going out one more time on saturday and then packing everything away and getting some yard work done if the ground softens up. Then I would like to get 2 of my uncles out as I haven't seen them in a couple of years and they mentored me when I was starting out fishing. Four is a younge age to get hooked but I'm living proof that a person can get hooked on one type of fish. I fish almost exclusively for speckles but will fish for splake for the table. So I would also try to catch some walleye this year on the soft water.

Thanks for asking and now to start planning.

Wired..

It’s really good to hear you and your son were able to share that extra quality time together this past winter. Nice job!! Hopefully that stink will go away asap and then the driving won’t be so bad. One way or the other, no matter how long the drive is, it beats the crap out of the drive to work. Anytime.

I bet your uncles had a great time all those years ago teaching you and spending that special time fishing with their young nephew. I just love doing the same with all the young’ns in or family. Wishing you the very best of time fishing with the old fellas too buddy. Speckles are a pretty fish, I’ve never caught one, they truly are the jewel of all fish.

Soft water walleye, ooo-wee I can’t wait, I have a date with a few nice Quinte eyes this May.. They’ll shortly after have a date with the fry’n pan..lol..

To remove that smell, I have with success used this..lol..

Tight lines & Great fishing to all:)

Thanks Sunfish as I will have to get a bottle of that and use it to lather up in the shower very soon to help keep it away.
